Petru's Photography
I didn’t set out to become a photographer, I started my career as a software engineer, drawn to logic, structure, and problem solving. Over time, I found myself stepping away from the screen and into the streets with a camera. What began as a way to disconnect, a therapeutic process of sorts, gradually became something more meaningful. I realised I was approaching photography the same way I approached code: looking for patterns, balance, and clarity, but this time through light, composition, and human presence.
London is at the heart of my work. I’m constantly inspired by its cityscapes, the river and the canals, the modern buildings and the century old churches, pubs and busy shops. I’m especially interested in the details that people often overlook: the reflections on wet streets, the repetition in architecture, the rivet patterns or the way light interacts with glass and stone throughout the day. These small elements help me tell a bigger story about the city.
My background in engineering still influences how I see the world: I’m naturally drawn to structure and composition, but I aim to balance that with spontaneity and emotion. Through my work, I want to capture London as I experience it: complex, dynamic, chaotic and beautiful, with millions of stories waiting to be told.
